StepMatch ("we", "our", or "the app") is developed by Platpuff. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our mobile application.

1. Information We Collect

StepMatch may collect the following types of information:

• Health & Fitness Data: Step count and active calories burned, accessed via Google Health Connect. This data is read from your device and used solely to power in-app gameplay features.
• Camera Access: The camera is used exclusively for the optional "Infinity Mode" feature. Camera data is processed locally on your device and is not transmitted, stored, or shared.
• Microphone Access: The microphone may be used in the optional Infinity Mode. Audio data is processed locally and is not recorded, stored, or transmitted.
• Push Notification Token: If you opt in to notifications, we use Firebase Cloud Messaging to send challenge-related push notifications.
• Anonymous Identifiers: We use Firebase Anonymous Authentication to maintain leaderboard entries. No personal identity information (name, email, phone) is collected through this process.

2. How We Use Your Information

• To track your steps and activity for in-app game progression
• To power the Infinity Mode camera feature (processed locally)
• To display leaderboard rankings using anonymous identifiers
• To send push notifications about challenges (if enabled)

3. Data Storage & Security

All health and fitness data, game progress, and preferences are stored locally on your device using encrypted local storage. Leaderboard data is stored in Google Firebase Firestore with anonymous identifiers only. We do not sell, share, or transfer your personal data to third parties.

4. Third-Party Services

StepMatch uses the following third-party services:

• Google Health Connect: To read step and calorie data from your device.
• Google Firebase: For anonymous authentication, leaderboard storage (Firestore), push notifications (FCM), and asset storage.

These services have their own privacy policies, which we encourage you to review.

5. Camera & Microphone

The camera and microphone permissions are used only for the optional Infinity Mode feature. All processing happens on-device. No images, video, or audio are ever uploaded, stored on servers, or shared with anyone. You can use StepMatch without ever granting camera or microphone access.

6. Children's Privacy

StepMatch is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

7. Data Deletion

You can delete all locally stored data by clearing the app's data or uninstalling the app from your device. To request deletion of any leaderboard data associated with your anonymous identifier, please contact us at the email below.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page.
